WORCESTER and Malvern homeless charity Maggs Day Centre has appointed an interim Chief Executive, David Hall-Davies MBE.

Mr Hall-Davies has more than 20 years’ s experience in the charity sector. He has previously headed up YMCA Cornwall and YMCA Wales.

During his tenure as chief executive at YMCA, he was awarded an MBE for services to homeless and the community of Cornwall.

He boasts years of working within the homelessness and housing sector and retains a directorship of Blackburn-based developer Y Housing.

Mr Hall-Davies said:

“I am very pleased to be taking on the role of Interim Chief Executive at Maggs Day Centre.

“Maggs is a well-known organisation throughout Worcestershire.

“It does exceptional work through each of their services for people experiencing homelessness, with even more opportunities to grow.”

“Moving forwards, I know from my experience of the charity sector, the highly skilled staff of Maggs and the excellent reputation Maggs has built across the county, we can develop even stronger partnerships between us and other local organisations to deliver the best possible results for our service users.”

Avril Gilmore, chair of the Trustees of Maggs, added: “Maggs is delighted to welcome David as our Interim Chief Executive.

“David has a long track record of working in the charitable sector specifically in the areas of homelessness and supported housing.

“His MBE was conferred earlier this year in recognition of his work with YMCA.”

“He brings a wealth of experience and we are confident he will make a significant contribution to the next stage of Maggs development and build on Maggs reputation as a key provider of services to homeless and vulnerable people across Worcestershire.”
