PEOPLE who find it hard to access health and wellbeing services in the county can now find these roving vans coming to them in their communities.

New health and wellbeing vans have been launched this month, offering easier access to services such as registering with a GP Practice, health checks, vaccinations, wellbeing, mental health advice and more.

NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire has teamed up with Worcestershire County Council, the University of Worcester, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Academic Health Science Network to provide the mobile health and wellbeing vans.

They are travelling across Worcestershire, offering vital medical and social services advice.

Services include support for GP registration, NHS health checks and vaccinations and immunisations.

Dr Ian Tait, primary care clinical advisor for prevention at NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire, said:“This is a fantastic initiative that brings vital health provision to people who are most in need.

“By being able to travel to specific locations across Worcestershire and offer health checks, vaccinations and advice to communities we can really have a positive impact on everyone’s health.

“If you see one of these vans in your local community, please do come and say hello and take advantage of the services and signposting on offer to you.”

Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: “I am so pleased the Your Health Your Wellbeing vans are now on the road.

“Taking health and wellbeing into the heart of communities is a passion of mine.

“If you see a van, please do pop along. Everyone is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

“They will help answer any health questions you have.

“They can also point you in the right direction if you need advice on anything from mental health to money worries.”
