Multi-Use Games Area proves a hit in Warndon Villages

Worcester Editorial 4th Sep, 2023   0

A NEW Multi Use Games Area is proving a real hit with Warndon residents – so much so that over 30 local children signed a thankyou card to the City Council

The MUGA is an unlit, enclosed ball court area consisting of a tarmac surface with goals for 5-a-side football and nets for basketball as well as the court markings.

It is also suitable for activities such as fitness workouts and learning to ride a bike.

The MUGA is in Brecon Avenue and was funded by local s106 developer contributions. It is now owned and maintained by Worcester City Council.

Cllr Owen Cleary, vice chair of Worcester City Council’s Place and Economic Development committee, said: “We are delighted that the MUGA is so popular with residents and it was lovely to receive a thank you card from local youngsters.

“The MUGA is a versatile space which can be used by members of the community of all ages and will serve to encourage physical activity and mental wellbeing for everyone.”
