A MOTORCYCLIST has died following an accident on the A449 near Ombersley.

Police were called to the incident between the A449 and A4133 junction at about 10am this morning (August 5) after the motorbike left the road and crashed into a nearby woodland.

Paramedics attended and declared the man dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews attended a road traffic collision involving a motorbike that left the road near Ombersley this morning.

“Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the motorcyclist who was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The roads were closed in both directions at the Claines Island, and the A449 southbound which was reopened at 12.15pm.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and urge anyone with information to contact them on the non emergency 101 number, or anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.
