OFF-ROADERS have revved up nearly £2,000 for a Worcester emergency department.

Apex Motocross Practice Track in Worcester managed to raise £1,911 for Accident and Emergency at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, from a charity event on Friday, August 7.

The ‘2-stroke’ action day saw 142 riders entertain the crowd and raise the much needed funds for the department.

Among the riders was upcoming star, 13-year-old James Hanscomb, who has been making a name for himself in national competitions over the last two years.

“It was a really great day and was amazing to have so many riders taking part,” James said.

Lee Jones, manager at Apex Motocross said: “Despite working hard to make our facility safe and having a medic around to treat minor injuries, we do sometimes need to make use of our Accident and Emergency department.

“Everyone who has been treated there has been very well looked after and we know how hard the staff are working.

“This is just our way of saying thank you.”
