Man stabbed in alleyway attack

A MAN in his 40s was stabbed in the back as he was walking along an alleyway in Worcester last night (Sunday).

At about 8.30pm the victim was in the alleyway at the bottom of Mulberry Terrace when he felt a sharp pain.

He suffered a stab wound to the back, before making his way to Maple Avenue where he was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Officers investigating the incident would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any information about it.




Detective Inspector Dave Knight from Worcestershire CID, said: “This was a nasty assault on the victim and we are treating this extremely seriously. We believe this to be an isolated incident.

“There will be a heightened police presence in the area over the next few days and officers will be conducting reassurance patrols.


“We are still trying to piece together exactly what happened and at this time we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen the incident to contact us.”
