Worcester Editorial 23rd Sep, 2019   0

A MAN was sexually assaulted in the early hours of yesterday morning as he walked in Worcester.

Four or five men attacked the victim, who was in his 20s, between 3am and 4am on Fort Royal Hill.

The victim suffered several injuries, including a head wound, which he received medical treatment for from paramedics.

Specially trained police officers are now supporting him and his family.

Det Sgt Dan Fenn said it was a serious sexual assault which happened when the man was walking from the town centre.

He appealed to anyone who saw a group of around five men acting suspiciously in Fort Royal Hill to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“While incidents like this are extremely rare, extra patrols are in the area today supporting and reassuring the local community and an investigation is under way to find these men and bring them to justice.”
