Man arrested on suspicion of murder after body is found in Hanbury

A MURDER investigation has been launched after the a woman in her 40s was found with serious stab wounds in Hanbury.

Paramedics and police were called to the address in School Road at 4.35pm yesterday (Thursday).

Despite the best efforts of paramedics the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was arrested nearby, shortly afterwards, on suspicion of murder and is still in custody at Worcester Police Station.




School Road has been closed whilst officers carry out their investigations.

Supt Mark Travis, police commander for South Worcestershire, said: “Following this tragic incident, we continue our investigations in and around the house in School Road, including searches and forensic examinations.


“I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this to be an isolated incident and no-one else is being sought in relation to our investigation.”

The Worcestershire Coroner has been informed.
