A MACHETE was used by two men to steal cash from a takeaway in Worcester.

The pair went to The Italian Job on Rose Avenue on Monday, August 3 at about 10pm where they used the weapon to cause damage to the counters of the fast food shop. The offenders demanded money from a member of staff but no injuries were reported.

They left the store on foot with a large amount of cash in a black plastic bag.

Both suspects are described as white men, about 5ft 6ins, were of a slim build and wore full face balaclavas and dark clothing during the armed robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to contact them on the non emergency 101 number.
