London Marathon runners notch up the miles for Worcester-based Leukaemia Care

MORE than £615,000 was raised for Leukaemia Care by participants in the London Marathon.

A total of 246 runners took to the streets of the capital to bank cash for the charity based in Worcester.

They ran in honour of loved ones affected by leukaemia – those they have lost, those who have survived, and those that have overcome their own personal battles.

This year’s marathon saw a record-breaking turnout, with more than 56,000 runners crossing the finish line. The event is expected to raise more than £67 million for countless worthy charities, reinforcing its status as the world’s largest single-day annual fundraising event.

Colin Dyer, CEO of Leukaemia Care, said: “We are incredibly proud of every single runner who took on the London Marathon for Leukaemia Care in challenging conditions.

“The dedication and determination shown was truly inspiring. The funds raised are vital for our mission to support patients and families affected by leukaemia, and to raise awareness about this life-changing illness. Thank you to all who ran, donated, and supported our cause. It really does make a huge difference.”

The £615,000 raised will directly contribute to Leukaemia Care’s ongoing efforts to provide essential services, support, and information to those impacted by leukaemia across the UK.
