Kate ball raises £40,000 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit

Worcester Editorial 26th May, 2019   0

A SENSATONAL £40,000 was raised for the Worcestershire Breast Unit in memory of a Worcester breast cancer campaigner who died of secondary breast cancer in October 2018.

Kate Butler and best friend Susie Coleman set up Breast Unit Events to hold fund-raising events in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit.

Kate and Susie organised the last Snow Ball in 2016 which raised £22,,000 for the Unit.  Susie Coleman honoured the decision she and Kate had made to hold the third Snow Ball this May, which she did at the Bank House Hotel with the support of another close friend Jenny Tyler.

Susie Coleman said: “I am still in total shock about how much we have raised. My initial target was £30,000 so to raise a further £10,000 on top of this has just blown my mind. I fulfilled my promise to Kate and I hope I have made her proud.”

Fiona Charny,  chair of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity said: “Kate and Susie were an absolute team together and Susie was determined to do this for Kate.  We are a tiny charity and a sum like this makes a massive difference to the services and support we can offer to people in Worcestershire with breast cancer.  Thank you to Susie and Jenny for organising this and to everyone that donated towards this brilliant amount they raised.”
