AN ANIMAL rights activist group has been showing off the perks of being vegetarian.
Worcester Vegans and Veggies held a fair at Worcester’s Café Bliss on July 25, where they offered out free samples of food and recipe booklets. They also featured stalls where visitors could buy t-shirts,books and toiletries.
City musicians performed on the day while chef, Tracey Sadler, demonstrated how to prepare raw food while the café served dishes for the fair-goers to try.
Ronald Lee, Worcester Vegans and Veggies communications officer, said: “We’re delighted at the interest shown in the Fair by members of the public.
“People were queueing to try the vegan food samples and to take away recipe booklets and other information.
“The delicious and great value vegan meals served up by the café were also very popular and the live music provided a really enjoyable atmosphere.
“The success of the event shows how more and more people are wanting to end or at least reduce their consumption of animal products out of concern for animals, the environment or their own health.”
The group are planning to hold a bigger event next year at The Guildhall and hope their will be an even bigger turnout.
