HUNDREDS of walkers strode out in the sunshine along one of Worcestershire’s most scenic routes to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

About 350 people of all ages used Saturday (May 17) to celebrate three decades of the charity’s annual Malvern Hills Walk. Organiser Lizzie Brazier said everyone had enjoy the day taking on either two, five or 11 mile routes.

“It was a superb day, the hottest we can remember,” she said.

“Everyone was in such great spirits with the sun shining and the hills looking spectacular.

“We want to say a big thank you to all the walkers, volunteers and sponsor RCA Regeneration for helping to make it such a memorable 30th anniversary walk.”

The money is still rolling in but it is hoped the event will raise in the region of £20,000 towards the work of the hospice caring for patients with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supporting their families.
