Housing group showing a lot of festive Kindness

Worcester Editorial 23rd Dec, 2023   0

A KEMPSEY community organisation has received a generous donation to help them provide much-needed festive cheer for the vulnerable, elderly and children this Christmas.

Platform Housing Group (PHG) donated £350 to Kempsey Community Interest Company (CIC) to fund carols at a local care home and to ensure children in the village receive a visit from Santa.

The funding is part of PHG’s Christmas Kindness Campaign, with the housing association donating £60,000 to support local events, food banks and charities.

John Weguelin, chair of Platform Housing Group’s board, said:

“Platform’s Christmas Kindness Campaign supports charities and organisations who aim to build kinder, closer and more connected communities by bringing people together and offering much-needed support services.

“When the cost of living continues to be a daily challenge it’s great that Platform can help spread a little happiness to families and children who need some extra support this Christmas and throughout the year.”

Kempsey CIC works in the heart of the local community to bring people of all ages together to enjoy regular social events and activities.

On behalf of Kempsey CIC, Simon Bott said,

“Over the past 18 months the CIC has been working with Paul [Edwards] from Platform and building a relationship which is invaluable in delivering community benefits to people living in Kempsey.

“We would not have been able to deliver the inclusive moments of joy at the children’s visits to Santa at our local Christmas Fair or Carols at The Lawns Care Home without Platform’s generous donation and support.”
