Housebuilder donates more than £1000 to Malvern and Worcester charities

A HOUSEBUILDER is supporting two Worcester organisations in their missions to support the community.

Redrow Midlands, which is currently building at Royal Gardens at Kensington Gate, on Bromyard Road, has donated more than £1000 in total to Heartstart Malvern and the 10th Worcester Guides as part of its Community Fund initiative.

The fund provides local organisations with donations to help them thrive, with community groups and charities encouraged to apply for their share of a £7,500 pot.

Heartstart Malvern aims to increase the chance of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, with volunteers training members of the public in basic resuscitation techniques and placing public access defibrillators throughout Malvern.

The £467 donation from Redrow Midlands has been used to purchase a new training defibrillator, which the charity will use during their free 90-minute training sessions.

Richard Vakis-Lowe, Chairman of Heartstart Malvern said: ‘Since Heartstart Malvern’s launch in 2017, we have provided our free lifesaving training to over 6,000 people, including local school children.

“Many of our training defibrillators are now worn out and need replacing. We are incredibly grateful to Redrow Homes for their donation, which has been used to replace one of our training defibrillators’.

The 10th Worcester Guides received £600 in funding from Redrow Midlands to purchase three new four-man tents for the group’s summer camp, for use during their outdoor activities.

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated entirely to girls, and the guide camp provides a safe and inspiring environment for them to learn valuable life skills, try new activities, go on adventures, and face challenges outside of their everyday routines.

Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director at Redrow Midlands, added: “We are delighted to be able to support both Heartstart Malvern and the 10th Worcester Guides with our latest Community Fund donations.

“We are committed to building thriving communities within our developments and are proud to support exceptional organisations that are dedicated to serving the residents of Worcester and across the Midlands.”
