Hospice is the choice

Worcester Editorial 16th Feb, 2018   0

CROWNGATE Shopping Centre has officially announced St Richard’s Hospice as its chosen charity for 2018.

The city centre shopping centre is already partnering with St Richard’s through the Worcester Stands Tall giraffe sculpture trail, which will be a big focus for the county in 2018, and has now committed to a broader level of support too.

In January, St Richard’s Hospice launched its Build 2020 capital appeal to raise the final £1.4 million towards a new bigger hospice building at the Wildwood site on the edge of the city. The hospice says the support of key members of the community, such as Crowngate, is more important than ever.

St Richard’s Hospice Director of Fundraising, Tricia Cavell says: “It’s fantastic to have such brilliant support from Crowngate and we’re looking forward to an exciting partnership over the year – all while raising money for the hospice’s compassionate care to patients and their loved ones.

“Our hospice care is made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, such as Crowngate, who fund more than three quarters of our income.”

Crowngate’s centre manager, Erica Burlace said: “I believe that Crowngate is ideally placed to contribute to the amazing work of St Richard’s Hospice, working ever more closely together to develop fundraising projects and other community initiatives.

“We are already proudly partnering on the Worcester Stands Tall project and look forward to supporting the hospice throughout 2018.”
