FORMER Worcestershire cricketer Alex Hepburn will face a retrial in the spring over allegations he raped a woman, the CPS has revealed.
The 23-year-old will stand trial again at Worcester Crown Court on April 8 on two charges of rape.
Australian-born Hepburn was accused of assaulting a woman, who cannot be named, after she had consensual sex with former ex-team-mate Joe Clarke in April 2017.
A jury was discharged after it failed to reach verdicts during a five-day trial earlier this month.
A CPS spokesperson said: “After careful consideration of the case against Alex Hepburn, including consultation with the complainant, we have decided to seek a retrial.”
