GRITTERS will be out this evening as road temperatures dip below freezing overnight.
The highways teams are set to go out on primary routes from 7pm, with forecasters predicting a risk of frost and icy patches.
Motorists are being urged not to assume roads have been gritted and to alter their driving to the conditions, never assuming it is safer to travel at normal speeds.
Freezing temperatures are also likely over the weekend, with gritters set to be sent out again if needed.
A Worcestershire County Council spokeswoman said: “Take care on the roads as forecasts suggest that there is the possibility of icy surfaces tonight and potentially over the weekend. The advice remains the same – even if a road has been treated with grit, it is never safe to assume you can travel at normal speeds and motorists should always temper their driving to the conditions.”
