A WORCESTER travel agents is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for St Richard’s Hospice after selecting it as their charity of the year.

Following a unanimous vote of staff at arrangeMy, based on the Berkeley Business Park, the firm will now hold a number of activities and events throughout 2017 to raise vital funds for the charity.

The team has already held their first event at their Worcester head office. Ten independent venues were invited to a mini expo, which raised more than £400.

arrangeMY chief executive Simon Scott, said: “It’s very important that staff are able to have their say on which charity they would like to support each year.

“St Richard’s Hospice provides free care and support to over 2,500 patients and family members, as well as directly helping two members of our own team in the past year.

“I am also supporting the charity further by volunteering on a weekly basis and look forward to continuing this support in 2017.”

Tricia Cavell, fund-raising director at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as arrangeMY’s charity of the year and are thrilled that the staff voted to support the hospice.

“Our care for patients and their loved ones is free and is available for however long it’s needed, but we can only do this with the amazing support we receive from our community and companies like arrangeMY.

“We very much look forward to working with the team during 2017.”
