WORCESTER Woods Country Park will be the venue for a day of fun activities, including a guided walk.
Woodlands Alive! organised by the Countryside Service is taking place on March 4 from 10am to 3pm.
Families who go along to the free, fun event will be able to see a working woodland in action. There will be heavy horses, willow weaving, wood turning, pole lathe, bushcraft, woodland craft stalls, children’s activities and much more on display.
There is no need for tickets, just turn up on the day.
As part of the day, a guided walk on the history of Worcester Woods Country Park is taking place. It is being led by ranger Tanya Feasey and starts at 1.30pm.
“This is a fun, free family event where you can see a working woodland in action. Learn all about traditional woodland crafts and come and see the heavy horses dragging huge logs through the woods,” she said.
“The guided walk will fascinate anyone with an interest in the local area and its history.”
The free walk will explore the history of Worcester Woods Country Park throughout the ages from medieval farming through to the modern day Countryside Centre and Country Park.
Anyone interested should meet by the flagpole at 1.30pm. The walk will last one-and-a-half hours.
