THE FAMILY of a Worcester truck driver who was tragically killed in a crash on Christmas Eve have paid tribute to a “much-loved” man.

Andy Dent died after the Leyland DAF tanker he was driving was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit panel van on the A4103 in Herefordshire about 11.30am on Tuesday, December 24.

Emergency services were called to the area, but the 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A statement was issued by his family on Tuesday, December 31 where they described Mr Dent as a “big character” who “always loved to laugh”.

“He was a beloved partner to Tracey for ten years and a much-loved step-father to Thomas and Emily and more recently, grandfather to Isaac,” it said.

“His passing to us is devastating and we cannot express how much we love and miss him.”

Police are still appealing for witnesses of the collision or anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles travelling along the A4103 before the incident.

Anyone with information should contact 101 while quoting incident number 290S 241213.
