Fabulous garden open to visitors as part of National Gardens Scheme

Worcester Editorial 20th Aug, 2023   0

THREE fantastic private gardens are opening for charity on August 27 under the National Gardens Scheme – with every penny raised going to charity.

First up is the multi-award winning Pear Tree Cottage Garden which is hosting Dragons at Dusk – a Twilight Garden by Candlelight on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

Not everyone knows that Worcestershire is home to this regional winner of The Nation’s Favourite Garden Competition in which visitors are invited to see the stars, watch the bats and even listen to owls – not to mention counting the dragons, if they’re lucky! Weather permitting, hundreds of candles and tealights will add to the already romantic atmosphere of a softly illuminated cottage garden at dusk.

Afternoon teas & wine/Pimms served after 6pm.

Pear Tree Cottage Garden can be found at Witton Hill Wichenford Worcestershire WR6 6YX.

With sweeping views across the county and also opening on August 27 is The Dell House at Malvern Well, WR14 4HU.

Open from midday to 6pm it offers two acres wooded hillside gardens of the 1820s former rectory, now a B&B.

Peaceful and natural, the garden contains many magnificent specimen trees & spectacular tree carvings – not to mention a garden railway and endless views!

Light refreshments served but note pre-booking essential at www.ngs.org.uk
