MEMBERS of the Worcestershire Ambassadors are teaming up to boost Worcester Community Trust by taking part in this weekend’s Worcester City Runs.
The membership organisation’s involvement in the half marathon and 10K events this Sunday is part of their year-long 2021 Walk Challenge, which encourages participants to log their weekly mileage.
Funds raised will go towards WCT’s ongoing mental health and wellbeing initiatives including Moodmaster courses.
Members of the Ambassadors team are being sponsored by Droitwich Spa based accountants Ballards LLP, who have supplied running tops and vests, water bottles and kit holdalls.
Ambassadors chairman Julia Williams welcomed runners to a pre-event team meeting, where they swapped training tips and experiences.
Ms Williams said: “After a difficult 18 months, the aim of our 2021 Walk Challenge is to promote good health and mental well-being and we are proud to partner with Air Products Worcester City Runs to grow our campaign and raise money for the excellent work being done in this area by WCT.”
James Syree, partner at Ballards LLP, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Worcestershire Ambassadors in their 2021 Walk Challenge and Worcester City Runs efforts to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
“As a firm, we take the mental wellbeing of our team seriously and have taken steps to put procedures in place to be able to recognise and support those that are in need.”
Ruth Heywood, CEO of Worcester Community Trust, added she is looking forward to lining up alongside the 18 Ambassadors and thanked the organisation for its continued support.
