Eight city firms in tourism finals

EIGHT Worcester businesses have been announced as finalists at a prestigious tourism awards.

The judging for the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards for Excellence 2017 has begun and a number of city businesses are in with a chance of scooping an award.

Worcester’s finalists include Canvas & Clover in the Best Touring, Camping and Holiday Park category, Stanbrook Abbey in the Best Conference Venue category and Bank House has been revealed as a finalist in two categories Best Hotel and Best Conference Venue.

Hop Pickers Rural Retreats is a finalist in the Best Self Catering category, the Cardinal’s Hat could be crowned Best Guest Accommodation, and in the Best Food Producer category Croome Cuisine is a finalist.




And two popular Worcester festivals are in the running for awards. Worcester Beer Festival is in contention for the Best Festivals & Events (Commercial) award and Worcester Music Festival is hoping to win the Best Festival and Events (Community).

The Tourism Awards for Excellence are aligned with the national VisitEngland Awards.


The winners of each category have the opportunity to be put forward on a national level to represent their county. Previous winners have included Stanbrook Abbey.

The Worcester finalists will find out if they have been crowned the winner of their category at an exclusive awards ceremony at Malvern Theatres on Tuesday, September 19.
