Eggs-ellent idea helps food bank

KIND-hearted staff at a Worcester home care service went the ‘eggstra’ mile by donating Easter eggs to the city’s food bank.

Radfield Home Care staff have been busily collecting eggs to donate to the Worcester Food Bank and aimed to collect at least 50 eggs by last Friday (April 7).

However, staff smashed their target and on Monday (April 10) donated 72 Easter eggs to the Lowesmoor food bank.

Radfield’s registered branch manager, Angela Freeman, said: “We have always thought the food bank collection was a great local cause as it serves people in need in our town during tough times.

“We encouraged all our carers to donate

“Easter eggs for the Food Bank. Every donation helped and we asked many people we met along the way to help where possible. We were overwhelmed with the response from our team of carers, and we look forward to working with them more in the future.”

Paul, one of the duty managers at the Food Bank, added: “About 30 per cent of our customers are single males with the remainder being families. They really do appreciate everything people do for them.

“The food bank receives donations from local business, supermarkets and cash donations; all of which they couldn’t manage without so they really do appreciate all the help they can get.”
