A DRUNKEN man blocked the door to a dry cleaners in Worcester while throwing crisps around, a court has heard.

Simon Kane, from Barbourne, was then caught by police in a bakery on Barbourne Road shaking his fist at the man behind the counter, while heavily under the influence of alcohol.

The incident happened about 1.15pm on March 15 when staff at the Cherry Dry Cleaners phoned officers to say a man was stood in their entrance shouting aggressively.

On Friday (April 4) Worcester Magistrates Court heard the 43-year-old was later stopped by police, who when confronting him could not get a response due to his intoxicated state.

He was then arrested.

Defending solicitor Barry Newton said: “There has been a problem with alcohol for some time with Mr Kane. He is embarrassed by his actions that day and apologises for them.”

Kane was fined £75, ordered to pay court costs of £105 and a victim surcharge of £20 for the incident.
