A WORCESTER couple were among those welcoming a bouncing bundle of joy into the world to mark the new year.
Rebecca Davis, 30, gave birth to Thomas DeMontfort Davis at 7.14am, on January 1 at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Little Thomas is a first child for Rebecca and husband Barry and Rebecca said she was thrilled with the new arrival.
“We’re absolutely over-the-moon,” she said.
“I’m so glad he arrived on New Year’s Day because it means we can all start 2019 together. Also my nephew’s birthday is on December 31, so we’re glad Thomas’ birthday didn’t fall on the same day.”
The tiny bundle of joy, who takes his middle name from a family relative, weighed in at 7lb 2oz and arrived 12 days past his due date of December 20.
Barry said: “We’re just so proud. Our family have been holding Thomas non stop.”
