A MAJOR refurbishment of a Worcester charity’s cafe has been given a boost thanks to a donation from a city law firm.
Law firm mfg Solicitors have donated £1,260 to Onside, which works with adults who are vulnerable, disadvantages or at risk of being discriminated against.
The cash will be used by the charity to refurbish their Mix Cafe coffee shop and breakfast bar in the County Enterprises Building on St Paul’s Street.
All profits made from the cafe are put back into Onside to help the charity continue to transform the lives of people with a range of vulnerabilities including mental and physical health issues, sensory impairment, learning disabilities and drug and alcohol misuse.
Kirsten Bridgewater, partner at mfg Solicitors, said: “We believe very strongly in supporting the work of charities that make a difference to people’s lives across Worcestershire.
“Having one of our offices in Worcester, where Onside is based, we have seen up close the amazing work they have been doing and we are thrilled to able to help the charity continue to thrive. Refreshing its city centre café will play a vital role in their future fundraising.”
Onside Deputy Chief Executive Officer Cathy Jackson-Read said: “We are very grateful to mfg Solicitors for their support and recognition of the transformative role Onside plays in the community here in Worcester.
“Our café is an important part of our work providing real life work opportunities for people with learning difficulties as well as raising much needed funds.”
