A RALLYING call has gone out to city residents to back one of Worcester’s landmark parks in its bid to scoop a national award.
Gheluvelt, Cripplegate and Fort Royal Parks, which were all awarded Green Flag status in July, are all in the running for People’s Choice Award, run by Keep Britain Tidy.
“Worcester would be a much less attractive place without its parks, which provide a tranquil haven throughout the year for people of all ages to relax and have fun in,” said Coun Alan Feeney, vice chair of council’s Environment Committee.
“Whether you go to play football, walk the dog, socialise or simply to get away from it all, you can show your support for those who work hard to maintain and improve Worcester’s parks by voting for you’re your favourite in the People’s Choice Award.”

Voting closes on September 30 with the top 10 finalists revealed on October 16.
