A CITY DJ is preparing to tour the globe after being signed to a major record label.

Jay Newman, who runs Worcester Warehouse Pro-ject, recently signed to one of the worlds most recognised music brands ‘Ministry Of Sound’, as a worldwide touring resident DJ.

Having performed at recent gigs including Elrow, Defected UK Tour, Dusky UK Tour, Café Del Mar Malta, Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Strawberry Fields Festival, Jay has shared his house and techno music across Europe, with performances from London to Amsterdam and Marbella to Budapest.

Ministry Of Sound have described the Worcester DJ as having a unique style, as he plays a combination of house genres using vocal samples, clever effects and live remixing.

Jay produces music with ‘Boxer’ Dan Humphries and the duo are currently producing new music for next summer, having had their track ‘Kick The Bass’ picked up by BBC Radio.

The 27-year-old said: “I was scouted by Ministry Of Sound during my Warehouse Pro-ject in Manchester.

“I’ve been involved in the music industry for eight years so this is my next career step and a sign of the hard working paying off.

“I’m super excited as this new role can take me anywhere in the world. It’s also pushed me to make more music.”

Worcester Warehouse Pro-ject is hosting the official Hideout Festival launch party on Saturday, February 25 at the Crystal Warehouse from 9pm to 4am, where special guest Flava D will be headlining.
