A DISTINGUISHED journalist and a former winner of the Great British Bake Off will receive honorary degrees from Worcester University.
Lindsey Hilsum is the International Editor for Channel 4 News and is renowned for her fearless reporting from global conflict zones including Rwanda, Iraq, Syria, and Ukraine.

Nadiya Hussain is a television chef, author and presenter who won the Great British Bake Off in 2015 and has since become a celebrated figure across the nation for her work on mental health and cultural identity.
Since rising to fame, Nadiya has used her platform to inspire others through her openness about mental health, her creative achievements, and her personal story of resilience.
Nadiya said: “I was shocked to receive this award. But I am happy to receive it with grace and gratitude. To be recognised for the work I do is a huge honour, especially because I don’t do it for recognition.”
They’ll be among hundreds of graduates receiving their degrees in subjects spanning healthcare, education, business, sports, science, arts, and humanities.
Ceremonies will be taking place in Worcester Cathedral on Tuesday (September 9), Wednesday (September 10) and Thursday (September 11).
Alongside the graduates and recipients of Honorary degrees, several people will also be awarded Honorary University Fellowships.
The Bollywood actress and world-famous teacher Dr Swaroop Sampat Rawal, who studied for her PhD at Worcester University, will become a Fellow, as will Rob Draper, the celebrated Worcester-based artist who supported students at the university to create a huge mural at the university’s Severn Campus.
