A DANCE and performing arts convention held at the University of Worcester Arena has been hailed a success.

Supported by leading dancewear brand Capezio, the ‘Can You Dance?’ convention offered enthusiasts the chance to take part in master classes and meet experts in the industry on Sunday (April 3).

Hundreds of young dancers attended the event and met with organisers Matt Flint, winner of BBC One’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’ and commercial dancer Tom Shilcock.

Katie Love, a local dancer who made it to the finals of So You Think You Can Dance, brought her team of young dancers from the city’s Academy Theatre Arts to offer professional experience and training.

“It was great to see Matt and Tom and was a fantastic opportunity for our local dancers. We can’t wait for next year,” said Ms Love.

“I’m so enthusiastic about helping kids develop and giving them a taste of the fabulous experiences I’ve enjoyed as a professional dancer. Its a pleasure to teach here and want to encourage young dancers to come and take classes with me,” she added.
