A SPECIAL open day is being held at Worcester’s historic Guildhall for couples hunting for a wedding venue.
Future brides and grooms will be able to view all of the venue’s rooms and facilities and experienced staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
The Guildhall will be opening its doors for the open day this Saturday from 11am until 3pm.
With six rooms available for hire, including the opulent Assembly Room, Court Room and Council Chamber, the Guildhall can accommodate events ranging from meetings for 12 people to private catered functions for up to 200 guests.
The City Council has a licence to conduct wedding ceremonies, civil partnership ceremonies and naming ceremonies at the Guildhall.
Coun Paul Denham, Chair of the Income Generation Sub Committee at Worcester City Council, said: “As many couples who have already tied the knot there will testify, the Guildhall looks fabulous and contains some of the most beautiful rooms in the city.
“It is an ideal venue for all manner of celebrations, and has already hosted two functions in the 21st Century for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”
