CITY residents have been urged to check their Lotto tickets after organisers confirmed a £1million Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize remained unclaimed.
The National Lottery is hunting for a Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner who is a secret millionaire. Every week Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees to create two millionaires – one on Wednesday and one on Saturday – but one of the lucky winners from the special Lotto draw on 10 October, 2015, when 25 millionaires were created in one night, has still to check their ticket and claim their prize.
The search is now on to find the owner of the winning ticket which was bought in the City of Worcester.
For every Lotto line played, players automatically receive a Lotto Millionaire Raffle code printed on their ticket.
The winning code on 10 October, 2015, for this prize was GREY 1239 0029 and the lucky ticket-holder has until 7 April, 2016 to claim their prize.
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.
“We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket in this area to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
To help jog Lotto players’ memories about what was happening around the date of the draw in question, rugby fans may remember that the 10 October saw the final games in England’s World Cup pool.
Whilst Australia beat Wales 15-6 to top the group, England’s emphatic 60-3 win over Uruguay at least restored some pride after a lacklustre World Cup campaign.
Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
