Community cash handed over after first Suckley Quarter Marathon

Worcester Editorial 9th Jul, 2023   0

FUNDING totalling £2,126.28 raised from the first ever Suckley Quarter Marathon has been handed over to SPACE, writes Emily Albutt

The organisation will use the cash for its ongoing project aiming to bring new life to the Suckley community by providing modern facilities to the area’s large, well-situated church.

The 10.5k Suckley Quarter Marathon saw 177 runners taking part, both starting and finishing at the Hop Shed Brewery.

The 2km children’s race, held before the main race, saw 32 youngsters take part. The event raised £500 for Suckley School which will use the funding to create more outdoor learning areas for the children.

The cash was raised through entrance fees and the cheques were presented to SPACE and Suckley School by race director, Lily Price and her sister, the organiser, Jacqui Wilson, who both wanted to give back to their local community.
