WORCESTERSHIRE cricket have teamed up with Severn Stars netball and Worcester Wolves basketball to offer two days of free multi-sports provision on a fun winter camp at University of Worcester Arena this month.
Thanks to the government’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF), free places are available to children who receive free school meals or are currently on an education and health care plan.
Both days will be packed with opportunities for five to 13-year-olds to improve their skills and know-how in a wide range of sports, games and physical activities in a friendly and safe environment.
Sports include cricket, netball, basketball, football, dodgeball and many more. All participants will receive a packed lunch and healthy snack during the day.
Callum James, Wicketz Development Officer for Worcestershire Cricket, said: “We’re looking forward to working alongside our friends from Severn Stars and Worcester Wolves to deliver a fun-filled programme to youngsters who have had a tough 18 months. Hopefully it will encourage them to take up a new sport in 2022.”
Running on Monday and Tuesday (December 20 and 21) from 9am to 3pm, the sessions will be supervised by fully qualified, and DBS-checked male and female coaches and appropriate coaching ratios will be maintained during the programme.
