WORCESTER garden designer Martyn Wilson has scooped gold at the world’s largest flower show with a plot highlighting the beauty of Britain’s brownfield, urban sites.
Martyn has been awarded the prestigious RHS gold medal for his ‘Brownfield- Metamorphosis’ show garden at the famous RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which took place from Tuesday, July 4 to Sunday, July 9.
Martyn’s garden takes an abstract look at regeneration and demonstrates nature’s ability to succeed against the odds and transform an open space.
Mr Wilson, who is also a RAF veteran and a former town planner, said: “I’m incredibly chuffed and so grateful to everyone who helped me create this garden, especially my sponsors St Modwen.
“It has been such a tremendous pleasure building this show garden and to get a gold medal is fantastic.”
