Chicken back on the menu as one city KFC branch re-opens

Worcester Editorial 20th Feb, 2018   0

FRIED chicken lovers in Worcester can get their fix again today after KFC announced one of its two city branches has re-opened after a weekend to forget for the Colonel.

Customers at the KFC on Hornhill Road, Nunnery Way can flock back to the branch after the fast food giant confirmed it had opened its doors again this morning.

Chicken fans at the branch and at the second store on the Elgar Retail Park on Blackpole Road were left in a flap over the weekend after KFC were forced to shut a large number of its 900 stores after running out of chicken.

It was part of a nationwide issue for KFC who have had their feathers ruffled after changing the company who are responsible for actually getting the birds to the shops. At one point just 279 of their 900 shops were open to customers.

In a light-hearted statement on their website, KFC said: “We’ve brought a new delivery partner onboard, but they’ve had a couple of teething problems – getting fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is pretty complex!

“We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours.

“We know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix – we’re really sorry about that.

“Shout out to our restaurant teams who are working flat out to get us back up and running again.

“Hope to see you in our restaurants soon.
