CBeebies stars’ visit is pure poetry

A GROUP of poetic pupils in Worcester were on a high when a crew from Rhyme Rocket checked in at their school.

Professor Poet and First Officer Ditty – as seen on the CBeebies’ hit show – visited Northwick Manor Primary School to run workshops.

The duo held poetry sessions and played a range of games with Year One pupils before Professor Poet returned two days later to launch the school’s summer fair and draw the raffle.

Headteacher Sian Williams said his attendance added to a successful day, which raised about £5,500 and saw youngsters enjoy music from band Aquarius and take part in a football tournament.

“The workshops were really interactive and it was a platform for Professor Poet to come and open our fair,” she said.

“There were a lot of Year One pupils there who enjoyed the workshops and were excited to see Professor Poet again, so we are thinking about doing something similar next year.”
