Cash to help boost services

Worcester Editorial 21st Oct, 2023   0

CARING Malvern community chiefs have revealed an investment in excess of £100,000 in the district to help boost local services.

Community Action Malvern and District has announced several developments, to boost the support they offer

Among them, the Malvern Hills Volunteering and the Community Action office will be relocating to 112 Worcester Road, Malvern Link (formerly Lloyds Bank) in October. This new office will give their clients and volunteers much improved access to the range of services we offer the community.

The group has purchased a 16-passenger wheelchair accessible minibus to expand local transport services. Its primary use will be to support the recently launched Worcestershire On Demand (WOD) Malvern service and other activities such as ‘Out and About’.

It is also expanding its wheelchair car service and await delivery of a new VW Caddy WAV (Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle).

Kate Walton, chief officer, said “After celebrating our 50th anniversary last year, we’re very pleased to be taking these exciting new steps as we look to the future for Community Action.

“We believe that the positive measures we are taking will deliver significant improvements for the benefit of the local community and we’d welcome enquiries from anyone interested in volunteering to support any of our projects.
