Cash boost for cafe

Worcester Editorial 26th Aug, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A COMMUNITY cafe which provides a place for people with learning difficulties to learn new skills has received sponsorship to fund new courses.

DG Den Café in Dines Green, Worcester, received the £200 donation from housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat to help provide new workshops such as healthy eating classes.

With approximately 48 people benefiting from the classes the café, which is part of Worcester Community Trust, will also provide learning activities to help promote independence.

Sarah Turner, community coordinator at DG Den, said: “The sponsorship is going to enable the trust to make sure that people with learning difficulties have access to healthy eating advice and fun cooking courses.”

Ray Higgins, site manager at Keepmoat, said: “It’s important for Keepmoat to support charities like DG Den, especially when we are working so closely with the community. It helps us build relationships and create trust, as well as ensuring we leave a lasting legacy in the area.”
