A PERDISWELL schoolboy will be getting on his bike for a sponsored 10 mile cycling challenge around Worcester Racecourse tomorrow.
It’s fourth year of fund-raising for St Richard’s Hospice for young Jay Ingram which began following the care his aunt Mel Baker received before her death in 2014.
To date Jay has raised more than £2,500 for the hospice and is hoping to beat his 2017 target and raise £1,000 this year.
Previous fund-raisers have included a sponsored silence in 2015, a sponsored walk in 2016 and a sponsored swim last year.
Jay’s sponsored bike ride will be witnessed by family and friends.
“I really miss my auntie Mel and things like this make me feel closer to her. I hope to raise as much money as I can so St Richard’s can look after other people’s family members who are ill,” the caring youngster said.
Proud mum Sabrina said: “He has shown such dedication and commitment over the last four years with his fund-raising activities. He really is an inspiration. He continues to show us all his aunt’s memory lives on within our family and the wider community.”
