Car users offered free bus travel

CAR USERS are being offered free tickets on First Worcester buses next week.

The scheme, which is part of Catch the Bus Week and organised by the travel group Greener Journeys, runs from Monday (April 28) until Sunday, May 4.

Representatives from First Worcester will be outside the Guildhall next Tuesday (April 29) from 10am until 2pm offering free day tickets to motorists who are interested in giving the bus a go.

Visitors to the stall will also have the chance to win a Kindle Paperwhite by signing up to First Worcester’s mailing list.

Managers from First Worcester and representatives from Bus Users UK will also be attending the city centre event which includes a “Meet the Manager Bus Surgery”. The drop in surgery will provide bus users with the opportunity to put their questions and suggestions to senior managers at First.

Nigel Eggleton, managing director of First Midlands, said: “Catch the Bus Week is a great initiative that we are very proud to support.

“By offering free day tickets we’re giving car users in Worcester the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of leaving the car at home and catching the bus.

“This event is also a fantastic way for us to directly engage with our customers and gain valuable feedback that we can use to improve our network in the area.”
