A CANNABIS grow discovered in Whittington, Worcester
West Mercia officers attended a property on Deane Drive, Whittington around 5am yesterday morning (Monday June, 24) after a cannabis grow had been discovered.
The fire service were already at the scene due to reports from another property of a large leak coming from the occupant above.
Upon entry there was 51 cannabis plants found across two rooms – no one was at the property and enquiries into the grow continue.
PC Gines of South Worcestershire Response Unit said: “Cannabis operations like to this are often linked to serious and organised crime. The drugs they sell have a negative impact on our communities and can lead to other localised criminality.
“Shutting down this cannabis grow has meant there has been a disruption to their operations.
“We encourage local communities to report on any signs of criminal activity.”
