Buying a property in Worcester is about to get easier

BUYING a property in Worcester is about to become simpler, thanks to a new collaboration between Worcester City Council and the Government.

From February 10, the city council’s Local Land Charges service will be migrated to the Government’s HM Land Registry’s national database.

The national LLC Register provides interested parties with details related to a property or land, such as planning permissions, listed building status, and other restrictions or prohibitions.

Coun Jabba Riaz, chair of the city council’s communities committee, said: “The migration of the Worcester Local Land Charges service to HM Land Registry will allow users to search information online instantly and enable buying decisions to be made earlier in the conveyancing process.

“The national database will also benefit those developing strategies for the city.

“You will be able to access the new Local Land Charges service for Worcester from February 10 at www.gov.uk/search-local-land-charges.”

When all local authorities in England and Wales have transferred their local land charges service to the national register, it will contain more than 25 million charges.
