BUSINESS minded pupils used their entrepreneurial skills to raise more than a thousand pounds for St Richard’s Hospice.
The Year Eight students at St Mary’s School took part in the Flourishing Fivers scheme where they were asked to turn £5 into as much money as they could.
The group of 19 raised a total of £1,100 through a number of fund-raising ideas including sponsored events, cake sales and a Christmas bazaar.
Lizzie Brazier, St Richard’s fund-raiser, said: “This is a fantastic amount for the pupils to have raised.
“They obviously put a lot of thought and energy into the project and are showing themselves to be the entrepreneurs of the future.
“We are very grateful for the donation which will make a big difference helping us to care for our patients and families.”
