A BURGLAR who stole jewellery from a 91-year-old’s bedside as she slept has been jailed for three years.
Connor Reeve, 19, of Wyckham Court, Buckland Road, Childswickham, Broadway appeared at Worcester Crown Court today (Tuesday) to be sentenced.
Reeve was jailed for burglaries at Ashton Under Hill Farm shop in Evesham and Melrose Close in Worcester on June 20.
He also targeted properties in Lansdowne Street in Worcester on June 21 and the city’s Tearne Street on October 7.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said:
“Burglary brings such upset and unsettlement to victims.
“I am pleased with the sentence Mr Reeve has received.
“I hope it sends a message to other young people that becoming a criminal has severe consequences.
“Our team supported the victims through this traumatic experience.
“One of which was a 91-year-old lady whose house was burgled whilst she was asleep and Mr Reeve stole jewellery from her bedside table next to her”.
