Body recovered from River Severn in Worcester

EMERGENCY services searching for a man who fell into the River Severn in the early hours of this morning have discovered a body.

Police received a call from a member of the public at 12.49am raising concern for a man reportedly on the wrong side of the barrier on the Worcester Bridge.

Officers attended and attempted to engage the man, who is believed to be a 62-year-old from Worcester, but at 1.17am he fell into the water.

The body was discovered at around 4pm approximately 100m away from where he entered the water.




The man’s next of kin has been informed and formal identification await is yet to take place.
