THE STORY of Jesus is set to come alive when the Bishop of Worcester makes a special visit to the place of his birth, death and resurrection.
Bishop Dr John Inge is set to lead a party of 65 people from parishes in Worcestershire and Dudley on a seven-day tour of the Holy Land in Israel.
The group will be visiting key sites of Jesus’ Ministry, including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, from next Wednesday (January 29) until Wednesday, February 5.
As well as listening to many stories of Jesus’ life, the tour will include visiting and worship with people who live in the Holy Land and understand what challenges they face.
Bishop John said: “Together, we will walk in the places where Our Lord walked – from the place of his birth to the place of his death and resurrection. We will pray in the places in which Jesus ministered and lived.
“This is a great opportunity to explore our faith, enlarge our hope, and deepen our love for the Lord.
“It’s also a vivid reminder of the fact that the Christian faith is rooted in both geography and history. God chose the Holy Land as the place he became human, to suffer and to die for us and it was there that Jesus rose again almost exactly two thousand years ago.”
