THINKING caps were donned for The Big Worcester Quiz in aid of the homeless.
Over 160 people from the local community, business and charities gathered to test their general knowledge and cryptic deciphering abilities in a bid to raise vital cash for those sleeping rough across Worcestershire.
Following the success of the pilot event in 2023, the quiz took place at Henry Sandon Hall with a brain boggling 10-round quiz, designed by Debbie Morris of St Paul’s Hostel.
For 2024, the quiz was sponsored by The Bransford Trust who provided the venue, with raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
Anna Marie Brant, fundraising manager at St Paul’s Hostel, said: “We were delighted to see the event sold out, which is a huge achievement with this being only the second time we’ve held the event, and a testament to the support we receive from the wider community of Worcestershire in helping to tackle homelessness.
“We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended, purchased a raffle ticket and supported us with facilitating this successful event, bringing further attention to the complex issues surrounding homelessness across our county.”
The event kick starts the fundraising efforts for The Big Worcester Sleep Out taking place next April, which raises funds for Maggs Day Centre, St Paul’s Hostel and The Worcester Warriors Foundation.
